Harcourts Property Centre finds Forever Home

The Harcourts Property Centre team has officially moved into our new Coorparoo office at 15 Harries Street … or as we like to call it, our Forever Home. As we settle in, we’re looking forward to digging in and finding forever homes for buyers throughout 2022, and beyond.

With the completion of renovations and new signage in the coming weeks, the HPC team is preparing for an official opening in late April/early May.

After experiencing growing pains in the previous office, the new space is custom-built to facilitate creativity and productivity for our team, by providing private workspaces.

Although a shift from a more traditional open-plan office space, Harcourts Property Centre is thrilled to provide its ever-expanding team with an environment in which they can thrive.

Stay tuned for more updates as Harcourts Property Centre gears up for its grand opening. Until then, feel free to stop by.

Sam Devlin bids his way to victory to raise $24,000 for Tongan Tsunami Appeal

February might be the shortest month of the year but we sure packed a lot in! Not least of all, HPC director, Sam Devlin, bid his way to victory and secured a position in the Vintage Reds Team to raise funds for the Tongan Tsunami Appeal.

In solidarity with the Tongan people following the catastrophic eruption of the Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha’api underwater volcano earlier this year, the Queensland Reds partnered with UNICEF Australia’s Tongan Recovery Appeal for February’s Vintage Reds XV Tongan Invitational XV match at Suncorp Stadium.

When Triple M’s Marty and Margaux auctioned off a place in the Reds side to support tsunami-ravaged Tonga, Sam got in on the action bidding $12,000 to secure his spot on the team, with all monies raised going to the appeal.

Suggesting a gentleman’s agreement with his last bidding opponent, Sam was able to double that amount and see the auction raise $24,000 for the appeal.

To hear how the auction went down on Triple M, listen to it here.

A former halfback, Sam dusted off his boots and joined the likes of Coach Toutai Kefu, James Horwill, Scott Higginbotham, Wendall Sailor and Lote Tuqiri.

“I won’t say I wasn’t a bit nervous before the game but our hearts went out to the people affected and It was a real thrill to get out there and support the appeal alongside some greats of the game,” said Sam.

The game was one to watch, with more than 4,000 fans rallying to watch the Tongan Invitational Team ultimately take the win.

Harcourts is beaming with pride to call Sam one of its own, with final funds raised from the match amounting to $122,771. Efforts are still underway, so if you’re interested in donating, click here.

Great job Sam, and to all those involved!

HPC Commercial Division yields first sale

The recently launched Commercial division of Harcourts Property Centre has hit the ground running, chalking up its first sale and listing another.

Noting a lack of commercial acumen in the Inner South market and seeing a unique opportunity to offer a more personalised commercial service, HPC Director, Sam Devlin, joined forces with NAI Harcourts Australia’s National Manager, Jason Luckhardt.

Weeks later and the joint venture has seen them sell their first commercial premises at 23 Vanessa Boulevard, Springwood, comprising offices, multiple sheds and studio space.

Just listed and headed for auction on December 16, is 1-3 Sesame Court, Slacks Creek. This two-level office and retail space offers high visibility to passing traffic, generous on-street parking and direct access to the Pacific Highway.

“An astute buyer could yield significant return via some minor upgrades and tenanting the current vacancies,” said Devlin.

“We’re excited to not only offer this opportunity to the market but also continue our venture in the commercial sector.”

Having long fielded client demand, it was a logical step for HPC Directors, Aaron Brooks and Sam Devlin, to strengthen their suite of services with a dedicated commercial offering.

With a combined 45 years experience in real estate, Aaron and Sam are well-versed in the sector and have a thorough understanding of the complex market factors at work, from financing requirements, property management options and leasing arrangements.

As the fastest growing residential Harcourts office in Australia, Harcourts Property Centre is now positioned to offer the same exceptional value to the commercial, retail and industrial sectors.

For further information about 1-3 Sesame Court or to arrange a copy of the Information Memorandum, Contracts of Sale, and Survey Plans, contact Sam Devlin on 0415 463 325.

Harcourts Property Centre sharpens focus on recruitment and retention

Nothing demonstrates the commitment of Harcourts Property Centre to its people more than its continued focus on developing resources to support and empower staff.

In recent months, HPC management has invested heavily in administrative team members, as well as systems and processes, not only to sustain the long term growth of the business, but also to support its salespeople.

“Retention is equally as important to us as recruitment, so we want to arm our sales team with the necessary tools that allow them to focus on what they're best at … servicing the needs of buyers, sellers and prospective clients, and negotiating the best price for our sellers,” said HPC Director, Sam Devlin.

“While we’re always looking for good people to join us, a key performance outcome for the management team is that the businesses of our current salespeople are constantly growing and evolving.”

HPC has recently recruited several new staff members to support this outcome. In the last 60 days, the business welcomed Sharni Lewis into the Mel Christie team and Lauren Cribb into the Dayne Evans Team, while earlier in the year Jack Goodsell joined the Brad Johnston team, Ingrid Brito joined the Paul Brinkman team, and Katie Ramsay rejoined the business to assist Mike Jones. The New Year will also see Ross Bischoff and Lachlan Tanzer further strengthen their teams with new additions.

One of the most successful HPC recruits of 2021 is Ben Carroll who within 3 months of joining the team has listed 14 properties (of which 8 have sold so far). Building upon this strong momentum, Ben has welcomed Nikki Atzori to his team to ensure he can offer an even better buying and selling experience to his clients.

“We work hard to create a culture where our people feel valued and empowered, so we’re delighted that both new and established agents are choosing to partner with us,” said Devlin.

Additional new talent that joined the HPC ranks in 2021 includes dynamic duo, Shane and Jeremy West, industry stalwart, Maree Grieve, and established agents, Matt Wall, Andrew Walters and Vanessa King who hailed from independent agencies and competitors including Belle, Place and Ray White. Boyd Brown also joined the business after 30 years running his own financial planning firm.

“One of the most rewarding things for us is seeing the progression of our sales support members striking out on their own as agents,” said Devlin.

Jake Hathway recently went out on his own after 12 months with the Lachlan Tanzer team, as did Sharon DePasquale after 18 months supporting Paul Brinkman.

“We’ll continue to undertake initiatives that empower our people and communicate to them that we’re not just driven by financial success, we’re driven by the success of our people.”

Harcourts Property Centre finds new home to satisfy growth spurt

Continued growth and an investment in salespeople has necessitated a move for Harcourts Property Centre to its own building, custom-designed to fulfil the needs of the business and team.

After experiencing growing pains in their current space, the team has found a home at 15 Harries Road, Coorparoo, and expects to start 2022 in the new premises which comprises 559sqm of building over two levels.

In a shift from traditional real estate agencies, the upper level features 350m2 of private offices that will accommodate salespeople.

“As a business we have moved away from the typical open plan environment as we believe agents work better in private surrounds where they can have confidential conversations if needed,” said Harcourts Property Centre Director, Sam Devlin.

“We’ve invested heavily in people over the last year, growing both our administrative and sales teams, so we’re thrilled to be moving them into a new space that will allow them to do what they do best.”

HPC Prestige makes it mark on the luxury property sector

Within a month of officially launching it’s Prestige brand, Harcourts Property Centre has 3 luxury property sales under its belt and 3 more listed, looking for an owner at auction in December.

Harcourts Property Centre launched its premium brand, HPC Prestige, to better showcase exclusive property listings for property owners and also to provide its agents a better platform to compete in the prestige property space with a premium offering.

Already boasting a proven track record of successful sales in the luxury homes sector and Brisbane’s highest sales volume, HPC director Sam Devlin, said the time was right to cement their position in the upper echelon of the market.

“HPC Prestige is set to distinguish itself from other agencies by offering the finest quality of service and unparalleled client support, backed by the Harcourts Group,” said Devlin.

“Not only will our clients have access to a local premium brand, they’ll also be connected to a wide-reaching network of 1000+ offices, 5000+ salespeople, and a significant number of local, state, national and international buyers.”

The average price of Property Centre sales is in excess of $1 million so the team is well equipped to deal in the luxury market space based on both experience, as well as the large volume of enquiries received from top end buyers.

Harcourts Property Centre hits the ground running in 2021

Harcourts Property Centre has taken the #1 spot for market share in Brisbane’s inner eastern and southern offices, according to the latest market share report provided by realestate.com.au. This achievement sees them take the top spot from Place Bulimba, a feat no other agency has been able to achieve for 20 long years.

Not taking this milestone for granted, the Harcourts Property Centre team is off to a stronger start in 2021 than even the back half of 2020, which saw it finish with 60% year-over-year growth for the 4th consecutive year.

Having sold close to 500 properties across Brisbane and Logan from their Coorparoo and Beenleigh offices in 2020, Harcourts Property Centre picked up a swag of awards at the recent RateMyAgent 2021 Awards, which recognise Australia’s most consistently recommended agents and agencies.

It was recognised as a Top 10 agency in Queensland for the second year running, as well as one of the Top 5 in Brisbane and was also amongst the country's 20 top-performing offices.

Harcourts Property Centre Director, Sam Devlin, says he and co-Director, Aaron Brooks, are beyond proud to be identified as one of the agencies setting the benchmark for performance in Australia.

“It’s a great acknowledgement for our team to be in the top 20 offices in the nation, but it’s most gratifying to see that our team is being acknowledged in the local areas that they work so hard in.”

Along with state and national accolades, Harcourts Property Centre was recognised as being the most recommended real estate agency in Coorparoo, Carina Heights, Buccan, Logan Village, Eden’s Landing, Kingston, and Holmview.

Several Harcourts Property Centre team members achieved individual recognition as the most recommended agents in their respective suburbs: Patrick Ivey for the 2nd year running in Carina Heights, Brad Johnston for the 5th year running in both Buccan and Logan Village, Alex Stassen for the 3rd time in just 4 years in Edens Landing, and Rowena Gill in Kingston for the 2nd year in a row.

Harcourts Property Centre expands team and grip on market share

Building on the back of their immense growth in 2020, Harcourts Property Centre directors, Aaron Brooks and Sam Devlin, continue to expand both their hardworking team and their grip on market share in Brisbane’s Inner City.

Maree Grieve has joined the Harcourts Property Centre team from Place Annerley, bringing over 20 years of industry experience as well as what her clients have described as a tenacious, tireless and professional work ethic.

Maree attributes the success she achieves for her clients to a passion for the local area, as well as her communication skills and the energy and empathy she brings to the sales process.

“I’ve owned, lived and sold in Brisbane’s Inner City for many years, and this local knowledge, combined with an energetic approach to marketing, is integral in obtaining a premium price,” says Maree.

She now looks to push for new heights under the Harcourts Property Centre brand, while maintaining her substantial market share in Annerley, Fairfield, Greenslopes and the majority of Inner South suburbs.

After impressing her with their significant growth over the last four years, Maree joined the HPC team looking to expand her business further under the leadership of Aaron and Sam. Interestingly, Maree started her career over two decades ago with Aaron’s uncle and aunt, Paul and Jennifer Brooks!

With the recent acquisition of Eastside Property Centre, Harcourts Property Centre will add to the team further with the dynamic sales duo of Shane and Jeremy West. Further acquisitions include Sally Normington joining the property management team, Shanae Barret joining the Nathan Carter team, and in the Beenleigh office, Melissa Cripps joins Rowena Gill’s team.
